Poker tournament have become extremely popular over the last few years. Every beginner is attracted to the glitz and the glamour attached to the poker tournaments. However, we have formulated three important tips to get you started with an effective poker strategy and play poker.

1. Always remember that luck and skills, play an important part while winning a poker tournament. Do not make hasty decisions in the quest to try your luck and end up losing your stack size. It would be foolish to bet all-in with loose players and play a few tight rounds in order to assess your opponents appropriately.
2. There is a huge difference between the poker tournaments and the cash games. With the poker tournaments, you would be given only a certain amount of chips and once you are out of your chips, you would be eliminated from the table. However in cash games, you can certainly re-buy as often as you like.
3. Always fold your hands while the blinds are low, so that you could work out against the loose or the dangerous players on the table. All the loose players who usually call with their two cards would be knocked out early in the tournament, unless they happen to be awfully lucky. Adapt your play accordingly to maximise your winning chances at the pot.
